That didn't take long. Last week a youtube video comes out with Akio Toyoda showing off a headlight from the new 2012 Toyota Camry. Now, a youtube video comes out showing off the entire car, and we here at Future Autos are the very first to rip images out of the video to show you the new 2012 Toyota Camry! The biggest news here is that the shape of the 2012 Toyota Camry changes more than the shape of the most recent Toyota Corolla did. Nevertheless, it's still the same basic Camry shape, with a few changes - for example, the back of the rear passenger window has an up-curve to it, almost like the back of the rear window of the 1st-generation Lexus IS (AKA the Toyota Altezza). Other than that, though, as predicted, nothing revolutionary is happening here. It's simply a new Camry, for what that's worth, and unlike the current generation Camry, this one is going to come onto the market facing some VERY stiff new competition from all directions (Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, new Chevrolet Malibu, and later on, the 2013 Ford Fusion). Will it be enough? Toyota's name alone will probably be enough to keep it in the number 1 spot, but unlike years past, that lead will be a very small lead, and that's assuming it's not overtaken by younger, smarter, more efficient, more powerful competitors.
