This is a render of the new Cadillac ATS, the 3-series fighter, from Motor Trend:
Looks pretty good to me, even if there is not much differentiation from the CTS. Small front overhang, less-small rear overhang, obvious RWD look.
What I'm thinking the ATS should come with, enginewise? The CTS' V6, a 4-cylinder Ecotec (possibly a larger one such as the 2.8), the turbo Ecotec from the Solstice GXP/Cobalt SS/Sky Redline (if Cadillac is smart, this will be THE main option), and maybe the turbo V6 found in the new Cadillac SRX.
It should come in sedan and coupe form, and I fully expect the coupe form to look like the Cadillac Converj:
Now if only someone would do a legit rendering of the upcoming Cadillac XTS, I'd be happy.
